About Us

The idea for Relax Records was conceived on a bar napkin after a conversation between Carlos, Ismael, and Monica while discussing how rewarding it would be to be able to release Carlos’ music and have an independent record company in Miami.

A couple of weeks later, Carlos brought the idea to Mathew while producing a large scale corporate event and within a couple of days, the initial logo was created, documents were filed,  and on March 1, 2017 Relax Records was born; the goal to release Carlos’ music as Koi No Yokan, in collaboration with Mathew (Dubyah) and other local DJs and producers.  

The biggest reward for us is to support local talent that sometimes can’t get a shot to break into the music scene in Miami.   The team then brought on resident DJ J Gomez, who is Relax’s main selector along with Ismael and Danny, to support promotion and event production.

Within the first year, the team worked hard to create the brand, produce music, and curate a loyal organic following with the ultimate goal of having J Gomez spin during WMC/MMW the following year. All the hard work paid off and Relax teamed up with Hideout Miami to produce their first showcase, which took place at The Spot in Wynwood on March 17, 2018.  During 2018 – 2019 Relax produced and collaborated to produce 21 events, three podcasts, and released seven titles.
At the end of 2019, Relax Events was created with the addition of Steven, whose passion for event production and management fits well with our idea to curate quality experiences and continue to showcase local talent across all genres. Be on the lookout for more releases in 2020 and beyond, as well as the launch of Relax Radio.
